The start wasn’t quite what they wanted with opener Troy Martin dismissed for two.
BJ Cameron joined Shane Wolfenden at the crease and the young duo fired.
Wolfenden blasted the ball around Lambert Park for 36 while Cameron notched up 73. When Wolfenden departed, Matt Finlay came out and scored 80.
Demielle Landsborough contributed with 26, which included a smashed windscreen off a six and Ben Jackson added 27 not out.
Guyra declared at 8-301.
Stand-in skipper Jason Campbell applauded the efforts of his batsmen.
“Some fellas scored some runs who hadn't been scoring some runs, they got a bit of time at the crease,” he said.
“That is what they needed, like BJ and Matty Finlay, they spent a bit of time at the crease and got some runs.
“Servies had a hard day but they will fight next Saturday.”
When it was their turn to bat, Servies struggled to find form.
They lost their first wicket in the second over with Jake Ellis landing the blow. Ellis had another in his next over and Servies were 2-2.
The rout continued with Charlie White and Kieran Wicks claiming wickets and at the end of the day’s play, Servies found themselves at 6-23.
While he didn’t land any blows, Campbell highlighted the pressure opening bowler Tyson Burey put on the Servies batsmen.
“Tyson bowled the better, although the figures don't show that, but he was pretty untouchable on the weekend so I am glad he is with us this year and not against us,” he said.
“He didn't get any wickets but Servies couldn't play him, he was too good for them.
“Hopefully he does the same thing but gets a bit more luck this weekend.
Not only did Guyra’s first grade side have dominant day out, their second and third grade made it a senior cricket cleansweep with wins. Campbell put the success of the club down to the off-field efforts of senior coordinator Adrian Cameron.
“Adi Cameron is the man,” he said.
“He is the one who has got Guyra cricket going as strong as it is.”
“The man” himself laughed off the praise and lauded the “culture” the players are creating.
“You can see the vibe that is there, everybody is happy and joking,” Cameron said.
“It is only extended from last year. Even when the boys were getting touched up, everyone was pretty excited.
“Then you have a few more characters in the side, like Charlie White.
“He is a real stirrer but keeps everyone on their toes.
“That is the thing, a lot of players don't want get to get dropped [to second grade] whereas you see other clubs, they are flat out getting players to play up whereas at the moment our blokes don't want to go back, they all want to be there.”
