“Kevin’s experience with the community, particularly with those along the sporting lines,” Cr Pearce said.
“He had a massive affiliation with the Uralla Senior Rugby League team, the Uralla Golf Club and he also did a stint at working for the Uralla Bowling Club as the secretary – manager.
“He joined council in 2004. Kevin was one to really digest community input, and really digest our council papers, he was a critical man of all issues and really did look at both sides of the coin, so as to speak.”
Cr Pearce said Kevin listened to the people and fought for the people when the fighting was required.

Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall was deeply saddened to learn that Cr Ward had resigned and said he would be a hard act to follow.
“Kevin has served Uralla and the wider district with absolute commitment and distinction over the past 14-years and his contribution has always been with the best interests of his community at heart,” Mr Marshall said.
“I have always enjoyed his friendship, forthright advice on occasion and admired his passion just to get things done for whatever project or organisation he is involved in.
“On behalf of the community he has served faithfully for so many years, I say thank you Kevin for your efforts and your big heart. Your absence at the council chamber table will be felt by everyone.
“I’m sure the community joins me in wishing Kevin and Sandra all the very best in the difficult time ahead as they both focus all of their attention on each other.”
