Taking on Lennox Head, on a drizzly Monday morning at the JJ Lawrence fields, Ben Venue lost the toss and were first to bowl.
Sophie Parsons was the only Ben Venue bowler to take a wicket when she clean bowled a Lennox Head opener in the seventh over of the match.
Due to the inclement weather the match was reduced to the minimum 15 overs and Lennox Head reached 1-86 from their allocated overs.
Best bowlers for Ben Venue were Alex and Myles Harris both with 0-6 off two overs and Sophie Parsons with 1-11 off three overs.
As the showers of rain continued to come and go Stuart Parsons and Joe Schmude opened the Ben Venue Innings.
They both played in a very controlled manner defending the good balls and scoring off any loose deliveries.
At the nine over drinks break, Ben Venue were cruising at 0 for 61 off 9 overs.
When play resumed Stuart Parsons was out for 32 after a very good catch in close by a Lennox Head fielder.
As Ben Venue reached their target in the 12th over Joe Schmude was not out on 20 and Ben Hignett was on 6 not out.
Ben Venue now go on to play Tamworth Public School in round six of the competition.
