Soprano Joanna Fairs-Wu, in collaboration with Kristal Spreadborough on flute and Robyn Bradley on piano, will present an enchanting program of arias and songs that incorporate the flute.
The works to be performed include “Deh vieni non tardar” from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro; a rarely performed aria from Verdi's Giovanna d’Arco, from his early “galley” period; Julius Benedict’s song “The Gypsy and the Bird”; Franz Lehár’s “Vilja” aria from The Merry Widow; and art songs by Delius, Britten, Michael Head, and Roger Quilter.
Admission to the concert is free, though donations are encouraged.
Tea and sausages will be available at the Uniting Church before the concert.
