In Sunday’s Spring Cup, the Armidale-trained horse surged home to win by nearly a length-and-a-half in front of Taree trainer Tess Wilkes’ Loving Home.
It was the second win on-the-trot for the six-year-old gelding with Matt Paget aboard.
The duo teamed up two weeks ago the last on the same track with the same 1900m distance but carrying 57 kilograms as opposed to Sunday’s 54kg.
”He went round as a short-priced favourite and Matty Paget got to dictate what happened in the race and led throughout, controlled the tempo so all went to plan,” Osland said.
“He loves the track and distance too – he is three wins from four runs over the track and distance – his only fail was in the Armidale Cup last year where we probably went too far with him.
“He is only a couple of runs into this prep and has a couple of wins on the board now too.”
As for his future plans, Osland isn’t sure what the next step is for Rage Against.
“We haven't got anything planned out for him,” he said.
“We will look through the book and see what we can find.”
