Armidale High School P&C Association has invited all students, staff and their families, as well as anyone in the Armidale community to attend the “School’s Out!” event to be held from 11.30am to 3pm on Saturday, September 22.

It will be a chance to reminisce, catch up with old school mates, teachers and any others who might have travelled on the Armidale High journey.
P&C president Michelle Rottcher said school tours will be conducted, various reunion groups will be meeting up, and school memorabilia will be for sale.
Armidale High School was officially opened in 1923 on the current central block and was built at a total cost of £22,300 .

“Please bring either a picnic or purchase your lunch and enjoy in the school grounds,” Ms Rottcher said
“We look forward to celebrating the past and the present with many from our Armidale High School community and we look forward to the future.”
Secondary education in Armidale is under rejuvenation with the amalgamation of Armidale High School and Duval High School in 2019 with the formation of Armidale Secondary College.
Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said the project could come in with a price tag of about $140 million and work will commence in January next year.
All the focus has been on getting the design right and the model right for this new school."

“The new school will be opened on day 1, term 1 in 2021,” Mr Marshall said.
“For those two years, all the students from this school will be temporarily moved up to Duval, where they have been building a lot of demountable classrooms, and when this school is ready everyone will come across here to the new college.”
Mr Marshall said what would happen to the Duval site had not been determined yet.
