We would like to begin by congratulating Mr David Mailler and Dr Methuen Morgan on winning the Super Star Northern Inland Innovation and Start Up Super Star Business Awards in Armidale. We note that Mr Mailler is a farmer from Uralla and we are pleased to say that on Wednesday, August 15 there is a presentation in Uralla on a proposed solar farm, which we look forward to attending.

It is therefore appropriate to lament that our current representative in Federal Parliament, Barnaby Joyce is a climate change sceptic who, misunderstanding the ACCC report, instantly proposed a new coal-fired power station in Gunnedah. In this regard, as in many others, he fails to represent the electorate, especially the farmers who know they are already experiencing the effects of climate change.
We are greatly heartened, therefore, by rumours that Adam Marshall is considering standing for pre-selection for the New England federal electorate. He has done much for the Northern Tablelands state electorate, and is an advocate of renewable energy. Let us have Adam not Barnaby as the Nats candidate!
