The pair are songwriters and performers from Unumgar, on the western edge of the Northern Rivers of NSW.
Kym Watling plays fiddle, banjo, and flat picks guitar to Geoff Bates' solid rhythm guitar, and each present their own compositions.
The married couple released their debut album, Small Town Tales, earlier this year, which includes their latest single I Got Gold.
Watling & Bates perform as a duo and have played on special occasions with bassists Johnny Rumble and Hilton Fatt, drummer Marcus Schintler, and guitarist and dobro player Thor Phillips, who was the producer of Small Town Tales.
The local gig at Two Goats Cafe and Baa starts at 7pm.
