Fire and Rescue crews, as well as police and paramedics were all on the scene.
The students and staff were relocated to the school oval, near the Barney Street fence, away from the buildings located closer to Rusden Street.
Armidale Fire & Rescue tweeted that firefighters were investigating the possible gas leak at the school and that staff and students had been evacuated as a precaution.
The Express has attempted to contact the school and the fire brigade for more information.
