“One of my favourite things is to help children develop their poetry skills, including how they illustrate and present what they have written.

Ms Masson showed the kids how to create and write a poem, and then how to illustrate and decorate their poems.
The kids, Ms Masson said, seemed to love the day, and came up with some great illustrated and decorated poems.
“It's been outstanding to see how kids, both in Guyra and Armidale, take so enthusiastically and creatively to writing and decorating their own poems.
“They were deservedly proud of what they'd done. Poetry really speaks to kids!”
Ms Masson had run workshops at the Armidale Memorial Library on June 18 and 25.
"The region is extremely fortunate to have a wealth of students in our area, and we're very lucky to have a poet of Sophie's calibre conduct the workshop,” coordinator Kirsten Bell said.
“It's a fantastic opportunity for local kids to learn more about the art from from a highly accomplished author.”
