On their home turf missing a handful of regular first graders, DK dominated and after leading 1-nil at half-time, raced away to claim the game 5-1.
Coach Evan Quaife said it was a strong performance by his side and once they got the upper hand, the result looked never in doubt.
“After the first 15 or 20 minutes it felt like we were in control for the whole game really,” he said.
“We played well the week before against FC, we only lost in the last minute to them.
“I changed the formation a little bit a few weeks ago and it seems to be paying dividends.
“Oxley Vale probably haven’t had five put past them too many times in the last few years but it was our day on Saturday and it was just a really good team effort.
“The result speaks for itself really, it was 5-1.”
Kirk Burton scored a brace while Geoff Donnan, Tom Landes and Naran Singh all found the back of the net.
Quaife said his team were too good across the park.
“We were really solid in defence and we attacked with pace, good movement off the ball, they didn’t really have any answers for that,” he said.
“In saying that, Oxley Vale are re-building and it looked like they were in the re-building phase because we dominated for most of the game.
“It is always nice to roll a Tamworth team. I think [OVA coach] Tim [Coates] said we were very physical and very strong but we didn’t get any cards in the game.”
In fact, it was their opponents in the Tamworth-based side who received three yellow cards.
