Uralla Central School music teacher Malcolm Boyd died after the car he was driving left the Kingstown Road, hit a rockface and rolled.
The discovery was made about 10pm, near the intersection of Wallaby Rocks Lane.
Mr Boyd, 47, was the sole occupant and died at the scene.
In a statement to parents and the local community, Uralla Central School confirmed the popular teacher’s passing.
“We have ensured that extra counselling services are available at the school [on Monday] and have had the new Director of Educational Leadership Pat Cavanagh in the school,” a spokesperson said.
We will stand tall and walk proud as a school community and I have expressed to all of our students and staff that it is okay to both feel and express grief and loss.
