The students spent last Saturday on the sidelines with the bye after beating rivals St Albert’s College in a thriller the week prior while the Tamworth team landed their first win.
Robb coach Sam Ditchfield said his team were quick to put the Albies game out of their minds to focus on their round eight encounter.
“We moved on very quickly on the Tuesday, got back to reality and into training,” he said.
“They know better than anyone else that any team can win on the weekend, if you don't turn up you are going to get beaten. They were very level-headed after the Albies game, keen to get the win but happy to get back into training too.”
Of Tamworth, Ditchfield believes they were closing in on the win the last time his side faced them in round three.
He expects them to be even tougher this weekend.
“When we played them in the first round, they were very good over the ball and they played field position very well,” he said.
“We spent a lot of that game pinned in our own half and did a lot of defending so I imagine they will kick to the corners or try to play it with us defending.
“I think it is going to be a good game of footy, I think we might see them play a bit more open style than what they have been playing previously.”
Ditchfield will make two changes to the team who beat Albies.
“Ben Spencer comes in as halfback, George Chudleigh a second rower comes in for John Thompson who injured his shoulder against Albies,” he said.
“I am very confident in the boys that are coming in, they have been playing extremely well in second grade and Chudleigh has been playing a bit of first grade for the last three or four weeks and been going exceptionally well so I decided to give him the opportunity.”
