The Eels sit on the bottom of the table but proved to be no easy beats as they defended their way to a 20-18 win over the fourth-placed Hawks.
The round prior saw a gritty performance against Moree for the majority of the game before the ‘Rangs opened up the scoring in the last 10 minutes.
Heading into the game, Narwan planned to fire for the full 50 minutes.
“Fitness, I was very happy that we all stuck in their in that second half, the first half is always our strongest half,” captain-coach Anarla Moran said.
“On the weekend the girls really stuck it out and pushed even harder in the second half which won us the game.

“Keeping our defensive line really paid off for us, week after week we are building stronger and stronger team and last weekend has proved that.
“The second round we won’t be taken lightly, we will be putting up a challenge. If we play the rest of the season like we did on the weekend I believe we can be one of the teams to be in the semi finals.”
This Sunday the side head to Glen Innes to take on the reigning premiers, the Magpies.
The Magpies are sitting in top spot again this year and while it will be the ultimate test for Narwan, Moran said they are looking forward to the challenge.
“The key to winning against Glen Innes along with any other game is definitely by holding a strong defensive line and just getting up quick together on them,” she said.
“We didn’t get the chance to play them in the first round so we are keen to get on the field with them to see what they bring.”
In the other two games against Inverell, Narwan’s A grade side went down 46-8 after being down 40-nil at half-time while reserve grade was beaten 34-14.
