Local hockey star Chelsea Thornton has been carving up on the hockey field with the young gun snaring two gold medals at national level in the last four months.

Thornton won gold with the NSW under 15 side at the indoor national championships in Goulburn in January before turning out in the blue at the outdoor titles in Wollongong in April where the state also won gold with a win over Queensland in the final.
Since 2016, Thornton has represented NSW on five occasions in both indoor and field hockey for two gold and two silver medals.
She was also named in the Hockey NSW AAP squad when it was released earlier this week.
