The side beat South Armidale 5-nil after three losses on-the-trot.
“We are not playing the footy we did last year but we are getting there,” coach Mark Gwynne said.
“There were patches in the last 20 minutes that looked as good as we have ever played.”
“We are not taking our chances where we should.”
Gwynne said the bye couldn’t have come at a better time.
“We need it. We are playing with players who have niggly little injuries,” he said.
“We have the week off and then we play Companions down there.”
