In a high-scoring encounter, Demon Knights prevailed 4-2 over their cross-town rivals East Armidale at Doody Park.
Demon Knights led 3-2 at the half-time break, courtesy of a first-half brace to Reece Habchi and another goal by Kirk Burton.
A goal to Naran Singh in the second stanza saw DK stretch their lead and take the win.
“We played like we have the last few weeks, mistake-free,” coach Evan Quaife said.
“We had a few changes from the week before but everyone that came in played really well. We had a completely different mid-field, the blokes that played on Saturday were tremendous.
“It was just a good all-round performance.
Round three this Saturday will see DK take on the in-form Tamworth FC.
“We haven't had a good record against FC in the last few years,” Quaife said.
“Like the last few games, we will play our game, enjoy the game and let the result take care of itself.”
In round two’s other matches, Norths United beat North Companions 2-1 while South Armidale went down 6-nil to Oxley Vale Attunga.
