In their first home game of the season, a stellar defensive effort earned Guyra the 20-10 win.
After leading 6-nil at the break though a Brock Laybutt-try, the Spuds soared again in the second half to extend their lead to 16-nil, with Ben Vidler and Jayden Field crossing, before the Tigers hit back.
The visitors closed the deficit to 16-10 before Field managed his second four-pointer of the game to seal the win.
“The boys played really well,” Spuds president Mick Wilson said.
“We got a few [players] back now and there are still a few to come yet.”
Wilson said the side put in a “gutsy effort” with their defence to win despite a less-than-favourable penalty count.

In the league tag, the Uralla team proved their competition favourites status with a 44-10 win over the Spudettes.
“There's a couple of young girls there that probably got a bit of confidence out of it,” Wilson said.
This Saturday the Spuds will host the Walcha Roos but due to injury and player unavailability the Roos men’s side have had to forfeit.
The league tag will still run at 1.30pm.
Wilson also said the club are “running a 200 club with the chance to win $10,000 this year and all the rules and regulations will be out soon.”
