An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and two ambulances were called to the property on Thunderbolts Way at about 2.15pm on Monday.
“The elderly man, believed to be in his late 80s, told paramedics he had managed to slice his entire calf open while mowing the lawn,” the spokeswoman said.
“The man also told paramedics he is bleeding quite profusely.”
The man is being flown to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition.
