Riding alongside them, will be Armidale resident Francesca Andreoni.
Ms Andreoni is jumping in the saddle to ride through from Martin Place to Prince Alfred Park in the CBD.
“#time2choose is a big rally that is happening down in Sydney this weekend,” she said.
“I think it’s part of a much boarder conversation the community across New South Wales is having, particularly of the importance of protecting our land, water and bushland.
“There is a real sense we are seeing wholesale destruction of bushland through rampant land clearing since the government wound back protections.”
In 2016, beef farmer Glenn Morris rode his horse Hombre across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to send a message to NSW politicians.
Now the Inverell-based farmer is returning to the big smoke and is bringing plenty of mates.
Indigenous communities, health professionals, farmers, graziers, rural towns and urban communities and environmental advocates will come together to tell state politicians it is #time2choose.
The rally will feature thousands of people on foot while dozens of horse-riders from around the state will hold a simultaneous parallel ride through the city.
“This is about coming together from across the state to make clear and known that these things are important to use as community and the future,” Ms Andreoni said.
“It’s always positive and empowering to be part of a community from all walks of life. It’s about speaking with one voice. It’s about taking our political leaders pay attention. Enough is enough.”
The rally is a year out from the NSW state election, with participants to demand action to protect land, water and cultural heritage from coal mining and coal seam gas extraction.
The #time2choose rally will start at 12pm to 2pm at Martin Place on Saturday. There will be speeches after the march.
