Armidale support branch vice president Samantha Skinner said the group was raising money for the medical service with a high tea next month.
“We wanted to do something different in relation to a fundraiser,” Ms Skinner said.
“We hosted our first high tea in June last year and we raised more than $3000.”
The event will be held on Saturday, March 10 at Armidale City Bowling Club with raffles, tea, coffee, savory and sweet snacks for guests to nibble.
Ms Skinner said the funds would help ensure the helicopter remained as an accessible service for everyone.
“All the money that is raised will be going to the North West Westpac Rescue Helicopter,” Ms Skinner said.
“It’s for accidents, searches for people who are lost and emergency transfers between hospitals. It is a really vital service for this region.”
Tickets cost $45 per person.
People can buy them at the Armidale City Bowling Club or via the Try Booking website.
