Eighteen per cent of respondents voted for the cold meat while pavlova came in a close second with 12 per cent.
Bon bons and pudding tied in third place while only eight per cent of voters said turkey was a must-have on Christmas Day.
Lamingtons and mince pies were the least popular options.
Ten people said potato bake and cherries were important additions to the table.
While a popular Aussie addition – prawns only received 16 votes followed by oysters, champagne and the ever-expensive cherries.
Not on the list but suggested by voters were pinatas, roast pork and veggies and brandy custard to go with the Christmas pudding.
Trifle, family and laughter also made the Christmas lunch must-have list.
