All the action will kick off at Burt Jovanovich Oval at 12pm on Saturday, December 9 with the top of the table clash between first placed Moree Boomerangs and the Armidale Rams who are second on the ladder.

Warialda and Narwan will then take to the field before a short break which will feature Moree Boomerangs under 10s players in an exhibition game.

Armidale and Narwan will then face off, followed by the final game between Moree and Warialda at 1.40pm.

The winner of the three-week round robin tackle tournament will be determined by points on the ladder.

The Moree girls are currently undefeated and coach Lorilie Haines is confident her side can take out top honours.

“If we win both games on Saturday, we’ve won,” she said.

“If we lose to Armidale, it’ll go on for and against points.”

Haines said the girls will be focussing on their defence, which has proven to pay off in the previous two rounds.

“We’re not going to change too much, we’ve been going well,” she said.

“We’ll stick to our defensive. The last fortnight we didn’t get a point scored against us.

“Defence is our strength.”

All girls who have been involved in the nines competition now have the opportunity to be selected for a Group 19 tackle rep side, which will play off against other groups in either Singleton or Muswellbrook on February 10, 2018.

From this competition a Northern country team will be chosen which will play against Southern country for a chance to selected in the NSW country side to play in the City versus Country game.

Haines said it’s a great opportunity for the girls to take their game further.

“I just think it’s great that they’re promoting women in football,” she said.

The whole Moree community is encouraged to cheer on the local girls on Saturday, with a large crowd expected.

“It’d be great to see a lot of the community supporting the women,” Haines said.

“Having the final in Moree, it gives an opportunity for families to come and for the girls to showcase their skills and talent.”
