The information session will be held at the Council Administration Building in Rusden Street, Armidale from 6pm until 7.30pm on Tuesday June 20.
The sessions will provide an overview of Armidale Regional Council, describe the role of a councillor and explain the role of the NSW Electoral Commission and how elections are conducted.
“Armidale Regional Council is a new council and presents fresh opportunities for the regional community. You could be a part of the new civic leadership team of eleven elected councillors,” administrator Ian Tiley said.
“I encourage innovative and community-minded people to consider nominating to be a councillor.
Council needs strategic forward thinkers who are keen to be involved in the community – people who would like to make a contribution.”
Nominations for councillors close at noon on August 9.
