Armidale Regional Council (ARC) provided an opportunity to make a choice – to be transferred to Inverell Shire Council or remain in Armidale Regional Council area.
“The administrator, Dr (Ian) Tiley, has given the residents of this area the chance to determine their destiny,” Inverell Shire Council mayor Paul Harmon said.
“I believe that this area would have a stronger community of interest with Inverell, and I know that council would welcome this area being included in Inverell Shire.”
Dr Tiley has indicated that the majority view of the residents of this area will inform his position on a possible boundary adjustment with Inverell.
“I urge residents of the area to respond to the written invitation from Armidale Regional Council, and make a statement on their future,” Cr Harmon said.
Residents can use the form provided by ARC or send an email to mayor@inverell.nsw.gov.au.
