It has been a busy time for Armidale Archers both on and off the range. The Annual General Meeting held in February saw Dennis Carson re-elected as President and David Hooper as Vice President. The following week the Club celebrated the completion of some major projects with a morning tea. Adam Marshal MP and Colin Gadd representing Council along with Carmel and Michael Raue were present joining local members and archers from the Coast to see the Jeff Raue Memorial Garden opened as well as the toilet facilities which were partially funded by the State Government. Barnaby Joyce MP was unable to attend to see the completion of the road sealing which the Federal Government assisted with funding.

Archers then had an afternoon of shooting and coaching, with Dennis assisting many of the coastal archers who really appreciated his help. This was followed by a qualifying ranking field round on the Sunday.
Last weekend Dennis Carson and Michael Zahner travelled to Canberra for the Australian Field Open Championships. In this event the top four ranked archers compete in a matchplay to determine the champion. Although Dennis finished 5th in the ranking round he was given the opportunity to take part because of a withdrawal. He took advantage of this coming away with a win. Michael completed the event ranked 8th.
Next Sunday shooting will commence at 9.30am. Any enquiries should be made through the Club website or on Facebook or by contacting Dennis or Margaret Carson on 67721029 after hours.
