Hillgrove won the toss and elected to bat. After losing a couple of wickets early, Brad King put on an impressive stand with 77 and steered the side to a 208 run total.
With the ball, Hillgrove were too good for their opponents.
They sent City’s openers packing for a duck each before ripping through the rest of the side to bowl them out for 73.
Matt Schaefer finished with three wickets while Adam Thurlow and Andrew Curry picked up two each.
Captain Matt Baillie said he was particularly happy with his side’s form in the field.
"We didn't drop any catches and just bowled to a plan and brought about wickets in quick succession,” he said.
"We took a fair few bowlers into that game and it paid off because everyone bowled one side of the wicket, kept the extras down, brought about the chances and we held all our catches and tore through them pretty quickly.”
