INSPIRED by the true foreboding nature of Grimm fairytales, costume designer for Felt Tip Theatre Margaret Sims has been busy sewing elaborate costumes for the upcoming performance.

A talented seamstress, Ms Sims has worked with the director on a number of productions.
“I really enjoy doing shows where you can do fantasy type costumes, where you don’t have to step to an accuracy, you can just go completely over the top,” she said.
“The director had the main concept and then you have to build on that, his main concept was the Grimm fairytales and they’re actually quite dark when you look at them.”
The actors and actresses have a core black costume, with interchangeable elements to help them morph into a new character.
“We didn’t want to do the Disneyfied [sic] version, so we wanted to make it grim but with the key roles we’ve tried to make them really spectacular,” Ms Sims said.
The production is on December 9 and 10.
