Musicians from across the region gathered in Armidale last weekend for a City Band Marching Workshop.
Armidale City Brass Band president Ken Peter said music-makers travelled from Macksville, Nambucca and Gunnedah to participate in the two-day event.
“We’ve done music workshops but not like this before,” he said.
“We invited people from other bands to come and participate and we engaged a professional marching musician, Ben Crocker, who ran the workshop on Saturday and Sunday.”
The workshop wrapped up with a marching performance at Armidale’s Markets in the Mall on Sunday morning.
“Some of the kids hadn’t marched before … and for those who had, there’s always something you can learn from someone else,” Mr Peter said.
The brass band will perform at Armidale’s Carols in the Park on December 14.
