Conditions were in stark contrast to the soaking rain that greeted 228 hopefuls that trialled for the two squads in October before both the U16 and U18 squads of 25 were selected.
Those squads felt the heat on Saturday as they tested their mettle across a host of skills and fitness testing as the Tigers program takes a different approach this year.
Development Manager Scott Bone said that there was a pretty even mix of players from all three Groups, 4,19 and 21.
“This year we are doing it a bit differently with the academy finishing in February and the Greater Northern sides selected straight form there into the Country Championships sides,” Bone said.
There will be no rest in the off-season for the rising stars who will have their first two day camp next weekend at the same ground.
