MERMAIDS, aliens, witches and swans are just some of the creatures that dancers from the New England Dance Theatre will embody in the latest performance Supernatural Creatures.
New England Dance Theatre director Penny Gurner has worked in various capacities as a dance teacher and wants to showcase pieces that are specialised for dance artists.
“My background is in dance theatre, I love storytelling in dance, it’s not just an aesthetic, it’s a piece of theatre and the style of contemporary is most conducive to that,” she said.
The performance features guest artist Ava-Louise Devine and choreographer Elayna Moeus.
Supernatural Creatures is on at the University Arts Theatre on Sunday December 4 at 4pm, tickets available at the door.
