
A SECURITY guard was hospitalised after he was allegedly attacked at the Armidale Food Emporium on Monday.
An employee of a store in the centre was served papers by a solicitor at 6:15pm before another man allegedly attacked the solicitor and two security guards.
Armidale Local Area Command duty officer John Walkowiak said the incident escalated when the man pushed the solicitor in the stomach to remove them from the store.
Two security guards from the Armidale Food Emporium attended the scene.
“It’s also alleged they grabbed the female security officer around the arm and pushed the male security officer to the chest, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the ground outside the store,” Officer Walkowiak said.
An ambulance attended the scene and saw to the male security guard who sustained a small cut to the rear of his head which bled significantly.
He was taken to Armidale Hospital as a precaution.
Security have refused to comment.
The victims are yet to supply statements and the matter is still under investigation.
