HOLLY and Michael Harris have notched up another victory on the mountain bike trail at the UNE three hour challenge on Sunday.
The Harris’ placed first in the mixed pairs of the Vice-Chancellors Cup while Brisbane duo Nick Pedler and Cameron Wright won the team event.
With recent works conducted on SportUNE’s mountain bike trails, the challenge provided the perfect opportunity to test out some of the new obstacles ahead of the two national rounds in January.
"It also gave us a chance to see how some of the new track worked from racing point of view when we go to national rounds,” New England Mountain Bikers’ president Peter Hosking said.
"We didn't really go into the pointy, difficult sections because it would be above most people's riding ability.
“There are a few bits and pieces we have to improve but nothing major which is good. We have done a lot of checks and balances to make sure we don't going into a train smash.”
