RIDERS from across the northern part of the state will travel into Armidale this weekend for the riding club’s annual championship weekend.
Held on both Saturday and Sunday, dressage competitors will ride in the event which caters from preliminary level through to FEI Prix St George level riders.
Although the overall numbers for the annual competition are slightly down, numbers in higher level tests have exceeded expectations.
"It is a fair competition, we would have loved to have had more entries but we are happy with what we have and it will turn out to be a good day and the weather hopefully will be on our side,” Armidale riding club’s president Kerry Crees said.
"We have drawn a variety from the northern region.
"We have got an exceptional amount of Prix St George and Intermediate 1.
"We don't normally we have the numbers we have at the higher level tests which is fantastic.
"That will allow people to see dressage being ridden at a higher level which is great for competitors and spectators alike.”
The event starts at 9am at the Equestrian Centre on both Saturday and Sunday.
