ARMIDALE Archers’ club are set to receive a massive upgrade to their facilities thanks to a grant from the Stronger Communities Programme.
Member for New England Barnaby Joyce said the club will receive $8,370 will assist the them upgrade their driveway. The funds will contribute to half of what is needed to enable members and visitors safe access to the Armidale Archers’ facilities.
Joyce said the club had planned ‘come-and-try’ days and beginners’ courses and improved access to the Club’s facilities would encourage the growth of membership.
A spokesman for the Club said that now the application had been successful, they would apply to host the State Field Championships in 2017.
Mr Joyce congratulated Armidale Archers on their pro-active approach to build membership as well as lobby for championship events that will bring visitors to the city and boost business opportunities for accommodation and other hospitality businesses.
