New England Tennis Academy aim to launch their first competition this year.
The event starts on October 16 and will be played on Sunday’s. It will be split into divisions based on ability with only six players in each grade. Run by Peter Le Surf from Armidale Tennis club, it is the first time this tournament has been run. Top grade matches will commence at 9am followed by lower divisions from 10.30am. Finals matches will commence at 9.30am.
Premier division games will be played on hard courts with lower grades to battle it out on synthetic or grass courts and rained out matches will be postponed until the following week.
Every match will involve the best of three tie breaker sets and if there are two players on the top of the ladder by the end of the competition rounds, the winner will be decided by who won when they played each other.
