MORE than 350 young athletes descended on Armidale’s Consett Davis ovals on Sunday for the final Central North junior rugby carnival.
The day was the final carnival for the year.
Armidale junior Blues vice-president Simon Stuart said the carnival was a great way to finish off a successful 2016 season for the club.
"It went very well. We have done very well in the under 12s. Armidale junior Blues have been the dominant side for the competition,” he said.
"The under 8s and under 10s are building nicely for the next year.”
The day was bolstered by the attendance of NSW Rugby Union and senior players from the Armidale Blues.
Stuart said everyone enjoyed the day and thanked Armidale businesses for assistance in helping out on the day.
"The local community assisted in running it really well,” he said
"Everyone comes to the party and helps out. It is fantastic for local rugby union, for those pathways and to the next levels.”
