Police are calling for public help after a shot was fired into a business in Armidale.
Officers were called to the shop premises in Mann St about 9am on Monday after staff discovered a bullet hole on the outside of the business.
Police said the bullet hit and entered the building, but luckily no one was injured. No one was inside at the time.
New England Acting Inspector John Walkowiak told Fairfax Media Forensic Services Group (FSG) police discovered the bullet at the scene.
“The projectile has been recovered,” he said.
“It will now be sent for forensic examination as part of the investigation.”
Investigators are now trying to determine when the shooting occurred, but believe it might have happened when the shop was closed for business at the weekend.
“Investigations are continuing,” Acting Inspector Walkowiak said.
“We would urge any members of the public that have information on the incident or who noticed any suspicious activity on the weekend to contact Armidale police on 6771 0699.”
