TWO of New England Nomads best performers were rewarded for their outstanding seasons on Saturday night at Tamworth AFL’s presentation dinner.
Coach Jed Ellis-Cluff was awarded joint winner of the Tony Gillies best and fairest medal alongside Tamworth Roos’ Daniel Leon.
Ellis-Cluff also won the Gerry Griffiths medal for the competition’s leading goal scorer.
Young gun Cameron Graham won the Rising Star award.
Ellis-Cluff credited his teammates and said their work on the field allowed him to perform at his best every game.
We have had a pretty good year and it is just nice to finish off the boys’ work sometimes playing up forward,” he said.
“I am pretty happy with it but surprised to be honest.
“There are a few boys in our team in particular that I thought would have polled higher than me.
“I take it all the same.
“It is good to get a bit of recognition for the club.”
