The Bureau of Meteorology is expecting widespread rainfall of 100mm across the Northern Tablelands and North West Slopes and Plains over the next 72 hours.
There is also the possibility of localised falls of up to 150mm occurring in some locations.
The expected rainfall may cause localised flooding in low-lying areas, as well as causing small tributary creeks and watercourses to break their banks.
Low-lying farmlands across the region may be inundated and farmers should consider securing pumps and other equipment and prepare to move livestock to higher ground if necessary.
People travelling on roads need to exercise caution particularly when travelling across low level creek crossing.
If you require emergency assistance as the result of flood activity, contact your nearest SES unit by calling 132 500. In life threatening emergencies dial 000.
