Former High Court Justice Michael Kirby will speak with school children from across the region when he visits Armidale next week.
Justice Kirby will hold a meet-and-greet with students before giving a public lecture at the University of New England on a new United Nations healthcare initiative.
Following his retirement in 2013, Justice Kirby has been busy with a number of international engagements for the United Nations.
On a previous visit to UNE in 2014, he gave a public lecture on his work on human rights violations in North Korea. He has since been appointed by the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, to be a member of his High-Level Panel on access to essential healthcare.
The lecture is from 1pm to 2:30pm on August 8 in the JP Belshaw Lecture Theatre.
