CALLING all wizards, witches and muggles for a magical evening at New England Girls’ School.
St John's students are revving up their broomsticks and pulling out their magic wands in preparation for the inaugural Hogwarts Yuletide Feast and Wiz Quiz.
Primary school aged Harry Potter fans from across Armidale and surrounding areas are invited to attend this mystical event which will see the heritage dining hall at NEGS converted into a magical themed Hogwarts Hall.
St’s John’s head teacher Shannon Rosewood said students were excited about this special event and that they were looking forward to showcasing their wonderful school and Hogwarts Hall to Harry Potter fans from the local community.
"We have a lot of Harry Potter devotees here at St John's," Ms Rosewood said.
"And this fantastic themed night celebrates our love of reading here at St John's and being able to catch students' interests and evolve that into such a great event.
“Parents who drop their children off for the fun night will also be catered for.”
Ms Rosewood said the junior wanted to encourage all students from across the district to sign up for the Harry Potter themed evening.
"This event is open to all primary school children in the area and it promises to be a night to be remembered with the heritage dining hall at NEGS being transformed into Hogwarts Hall,” she said.
“The kids will also take part in a great yuletide feast and then participate in a fun Harry Potter wiz quiz afterwards.”
The night is part of the school's new strategy to hold more community-based events with all students from across the district encouraged to dust off their robes and polish their wands.
The night is Hogwartz themed so would-be wizards and witches should donned their best dress robes, quidditch kit or owl outfit.
