SAUMAREZ Homestead will be filled with festive cheer this weekend with Armidale Torch Bearers for Legacy’s hosting a Christmas in July party.
Fundraising coordinator Nanette Peatfield said the event was the group’s major fundraiser for the year.
“Armidale Torch Bearers for Legacy are a club comprised of women and we support Legacy by holding fundraisers and annual give them a cheque with all the proceeds from the year,” Ms Peatfield said.
“We will also be doing other fundraising events throughout the year but we thought this would be a fun event.”
The Christmas in July has a full lineup planned with live entertainment, a comedy set, auction, raffle, pick a star and lucky door prizes.
“We are completely booked out,” Ms Peatfield said.
“We are very thrilled and people of all ages have signed up for the event so it will be wonderful.
“We cannot believe the support we have received … we were sold out 10 days before the event.
”We will also have an auction in the afternoon because we’ve had some fantastic sponsors around Uralla and Armidale.
“The community has been amazingly forthcoming and very generous with gifts.”
The Christmas in July fundraiser will be held on Saturday July 23 at Saumarez Homestead from 12pm with presents, baubles and a special visit from ‘bush Santa’.
