There is more to Chinese culture than dumplings and Kung Fu and much of it was on show at the University of New England on Monday night.
Chinese students performed traditional songs, calligraphy and a tea ceremony at Armidale’s UNE Alumni Association annual cultural celebration held at the Oorala centre.
Third-year economics student Fiona Fu said the event was a great way to introduce China’s culture to the people of Armidale.
“We can show how passionate we are about Chinese culture,” she said.
The university currently has over 150 Chinese students and Ms Fu said they were from all over China.
“We can show you how great Chinese culture is because we are from such a wide area,” she said.
“People really like the food and also Chinese Kung Fu is also popular, but there are lots of other things too.
