BEN VENUE pupils sprinted through obstacles as part of their first colour run held over the weekend.
Ben Venue Public School principal Louise Moffatt said the event was the Parent and Community organisation’s biggest fundraising initiative of the year.
“We want to try something different this year rather than having a school fete,” Ms Moffat said.
“The idea formed from wanting to do a fun run to promote a healthy lifestyle.”
Children were tasked with finding supporters who sponsored them to take on the challenge of the run.
“Students had to run the course, which included obstacles such as balance beams, sack races and five colour stations where they passed through the colouring powder,” Ms Moffatt said.
“It was a lot of fun and the students are already talking about next year’s run.”
Ms Moffatt said the committee should be commended for the event, which promoted activity and physical fitness.
“We are hoping to use the fundraising money to expand and improve the technology available in our school,” she said.
