Classic rides rolled into the Bunnings Warehouse car park on two wheels or four, delighting the city's dads - a few of whom presumably made a beeline for the hardware store to spend their father's day gift cards.
The day also happened to coincide with the first meeting of a "coffee and chat" initiative aiming to bring all motoring enthusiasts together.
The plan is being kicked into gear by Uralla's Matt Pennycuick.
“It's just about getting a lot of motoring enthusiast together for a social gathering," Mr Pennycuick said.
“It’s not a formal gathering.
"It's for people with all the types of vehicles from hotrods to classic to modern cars to motorbikes."
Mr Pennycuick will be holding the gathering on the first Sunday of each month at the Bunnings Warehouse car park.
Anyone wanting to know more about the monthly gathering should contact Mr Pennycuik on 0409 783 242 or matt.gail@bigpond.com.
The Classic and Specialist Car Club of Northern NSW is based in Armidale and is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and use of rare and unusual cars.
Membership also entitles those with vehicles 30 years of age or older to be on the Historic Vehicle Registration Scheme.
The club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at the Armidale Bowling Club at 7:30pm.
