The entire Milky Way will be on show at the venue, where New England Tech Fest will delight crowds until Friday.
An inflatable 3D theatre equipped with the latest immersive and interactive technologies will be one of the main attractions.
Satellite imagery from NASA’s Digital Universe Atlas will be streamed into the IGLE in real time at high resolution – making participants feel they are immersed in outer space.
Visitors will experience fly-through tours of the Universe brought to life by imagery from global telescope networks and immersive 3D projection and visualisation tools, accessing multiple data sources in real time. The experience is made possible through AARNet, with chief executive Chris Hancock thrilled to bring the universe to students.
The Armidale resident said it was a great initiative.
“We actively seek opportunities to bring high-quality content providers and educators together to create new teaching and learning experiences using the latest technologies,” Mr Hancock said.
