Five households in Armidale and six in Invergowrie will be open on November 8 and 9 for anyone wanting to see the range of features that make them sustainable homes.
These houses range from a renovated 1890s cottage to an only recently built modern home.
Sustainable Living Armidale’s Robyn Newberry said it would be a learning experience for anyone interested in being more environmentally friendly.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for people interested in living more sustainably to see actual examples in our community, and talk to homeowners about the details of their houses,” she said.
People are required to transport themselves in the tour.
Those wanting to take part can purchase a tour booklet at Knight’s Store on the corner of Marsh and Mann streets and at Armidale Outdoors on Rusden Street.
Booklets can also be bought from the Invergowrie General Store.
