Strathdale moved to the top of the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League division one ladder on Sunday and it's hard to see the Blues being dislodged. Strathdale gave Golden City a 7-1 hiding to move to a perfect 15 points from five games and a three-point lead over arch-rival Strathdale. The Blues had the game sewn up within the first 15 minutes when they scored three times through the services of Connor Boxshall twice and Sam Farr. The in-form Daniel Purdy made it 4-0 on 36 minutes before September Htoo Kawmar gave the Rams life with his first goal of the season just before half-time. Farr's second goal for the Blues midway through the second half sparked another Strathdale surge, with Purdy scoring two more goals to complete his second hat-trick of the season. Epsom missed a golden opportunity to join Strathdale on 15 points when it slumped to a 5-1 away loss to a Shepparton South side that found something like its best form. Shepparton South has battled with injuries and consistency through the first six weeks of the season, but everything clicked on Sunday. Callan McCabe gave Shepparton South the lead after just four minutes. The score remained 1-0 until seven minutes into the second half when Justin Cirillo doubled the home side's lead. With 19 minutes remaining Shaun Kane sealed the points with Shepparton South's third goal. Kyle Smith broke through to score for Epsom in the 83rd minute, but the home side bounced back with two late goals through Kane and Joel Aitken. "A good performance has been coming,'' Shepparton South coach Rob Harmeston said. "We've been nearly there, but not quite and we've had some bad results. "We finally got it right. We tweaked our system and it paid dividends for us. Defensively we were a lot more solid. "We'll always have a crack and we'll always be competitive. It was just a matter of finding our feet. "Our aim is to get ourselves inside that top five." Epsom coach Travis Robertson lamented his side's worst performance of the season. "It was the worst performance I've seen from us in my time here,'' he said. "It was one of those days where nothing went right and we couldn't do the basics right. "Shepparton South deserved the three points." In the final game of the division one round, Shepparton United came from behind to defeat bottom side La Trobe University. La Trobe shocked the visitors when Ryan Carty found the back of the net in the 60th minute. La Trobe's joy was short lived. Five minutes later David Musafiri levelled the scores for Shepparton United. In the 71st minute Musafiri struck again to win the game for Shepparton United. La Trobe University produced arguably the best performance of the women's championship so far when it defeated reigning champion Shepparton United 7-2 on Sunday. After dominating some weaker teams in recent weeks the students took their game to another level against a high quality opponent. Captain Holly Boldiston led the charge by scoring twice in the first 19 minutes. When Olivia Kennedy scored her own brace in the space of eight minutes La Trobe soared to a 4-2 lead in the 30th minute. Rezwana Baqiri scored twice to give Shepparton United a spark, but a goal by Chloe Lamb gave La Trobe a match-winning 5-2 lead at half-time. Wakilele Ezard completed the thrashing by scoring two unanswered goals in the second half. La Trobe sits on top of the table on 19 points from seven games. Strathdale and Spring Gully United have the same record, but La Trobe has a superior goal difference. The top three teams play each other over the next four rounds. Strathdale consolidated second spot on the back of a 5-0 win over Golden City. Bridget Chamberlain scored twice for the Blues, while Isabelle Chamberlain, Rachel Oper and Alice Bailey also found the back of the net. Strathdale now plays Spring Gully United next Sunday in one of the highlights of the BASL's Female Football Round. Spring Gully was very impressive in scoring a 6-0 win over Moama-Echuca Border Raiders. Two goals from Paige Conder and singles from Bahar Davies, Amanda Sgarioto, Leila Bartolo and Frances Leach did the job for the Reds. "We missed a boatful of chances in the first 30 minutes and I thought it was going to be one of those days,'' Spring Gully coach Simon Smith said. "We got a couple of goals just before half-time and then after that we dominated the game. "It was a really strong performance right throughout the side." A fine hat-trick from Charlotte Edlin led FC Eaglehawk to a 6-1 win over Swan Hill. In a confidence-boosting performance, it was the Hawks' first win since round three Beth Baldwin scored the first goal of the game inside two minutes and one minute Edlin doubled the Hawks' lead. However, Swan Hill responded with a goal in the fourth minute from Donal Fellows. Baldwin and Edlin gave the Hawks a 4-1 lead with two fine goals. Any chance of a Swan Hill comeback was put to bed early in the second-half when Brianna Hamblin scored. Edlin completed her hat-trick midway through the second-half to complete a great day for Eaglehawk. Strathfieldsaye Colts United thumped Tatura 8-0. Rebecca Berry scored four times to take her season tally to 23, while Maddie Ridsdale added two goals and Michelle Duffy one. Colts also scored via an own goal. Five goals from Alicia Rowan set up Shepparton South's 10-0 win over bottom side Epsom. La Trobe Uni 1 (R. Carty) lt Shepparton United 2 (D. Musafiri 2). Shepparton South 5 (S. Kane 2, C. McCabe, J.
