Full job description
Our client, a leading NFP requires an Out of Home Care (OOHC) Area Manager will lead a team of skilled staff to deliver an effective regional model for Out of Home Care (OOHC) services in residential, foster care & other settings to children & young people in care ensuring a safe, nurturing & home-like environment.

This role oversees operations of residential & foster care programs, identifies new funding opportunities, assist with funding submissions, plans & promotes growth opportunities & maintenance of accreditation.

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Understanding of the legislative requirements for children in the OOHC System.
  • Knowledge / experience of therapeutic services to vulnerable children, young people & families.
  • Ability to provide expert case consultation & advice to others, particularly around trauma.
  • Ability to manage & effectively lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Well-developed leadership, team building & management skills
  • Highly developed verbal & written communications skills including formal report writing.
  • Experience with clients with complex needs, eg violence, alcohol, drugs, CALD &/or mental illness
  • Understanding of the issues facing children & young people in foster care
  • Understanding of the issues facing Foster Carers children & young people with a disability
